Avoid this abominable property
We had a miserable time at this Vrbo property. The pool hadn’t been cleaned, the ‘pool house’ was full of dead container plants and broken fitness equipment covered in bird faeces. In the kitchen the fridge/freezer didn’t work, all our frozen goods perished, after which the property manager had to hunt down an old fridge from somewhere to replace the faulty machine. The garden was neglected and overgrown with weeds, there were defective lights, flaking paint, rusting garden furniture, a big stack of decaying building materials in a corner, a defective French door hanging precariously from one hinge… The whole place had a feeling of neglect.
We had a reservation for 8 nights and we left 3 days early on the first available flight after Easter.
We asked the property manager to refund us for the three nights that we did not stay, and discount for the five nights that we did stay due to the poor experience. Our request was simply ignored. He simply stated that this was not one of their own properties and they had only rented it themselves and then re-let to tourists like us — which seemed to imply that this property wasn’t up to their usual standards, because it simply didn’t belong to them.
When we complained to Vrbo, we were told that given there was no health and safety issue, there wasn’t anything they could do.
At one stroke, this cancels out all the good experiences we had over many years renting properties on Vrbo.
