The good: The house itself is very nice and was very clean. The kitchen was new with new appliances, bathrooms were modern and clean. Living room furnishings were comfortable. Mattresses were comfortable with soft linens.The bad: The front stairs were not shoveled when we arrived which was mildly annoying. But the biggest issue is that the heat was completely off when we arrived and the house was frigid. We could not figure out why the mini splits were not working, and the management company was not helpful when I reached out. We were able to turn on the furnace and the house slowly warmed up, but it took about two hours for the house to come up to a comfortable temperature. When we finally were able to put our kids to bed after the house warmed up, we realized that one of the twin beds was completely unstable; it looked like an ikea bed that was never put together correctly. We had to remove the mattress from the bed and put it on the floor. The messaging with vacasa seemed to be a bot, and none of our complaints were met with any real response beyond “we will alert the local team”. After this experience I’m not eager to rent another vacasa managed property. Problems will come up and generally my family is not nitpicky (I’ve never written a negative review on vrbo), but the lack of helpful response or follow through from vacasa was pretty off putting.
