What's better than beachfront? Our place! We are directly across the street from the beach, so you get the convenience of beachfront without the beachfront prices. You are a shorter walk to the beach from our condo than you would be in the big resorts with 'beachfront' prices.

Come relax and feel the sand between your toes in beautiful South Padre Island. This is the perfect place to get away from it all. Even better, is our location. We are directly across the street from the beach, and there is a beach access just steps from the condo. It's like being beachfront without the prices! There are no hotels around us, so the beach is not as crowded and the neighborhood is quiet.

Stream your favorite apps, ZOOM, eLearn, etc. with high-speed WIFI internet. Our condos are pet friendly and kid friendly. They are also great for a romantic getaway. Are you setting up a girls' weekend or reunion? You can rent out an entire floor or the whole building and have a private vacation!

We give 10% discount to Military, Police, and Firemen. The traveler securing the reservation must be 25 years of age or older. For Spring Break / Semana Santa all rental guests must comply with a families only restriction. We stayed two weeks at the property with other family joining the second week. Excellent communication before and after booking as well during our stay. Easy check in. Great reserved parking right outside the door for two cars. Multiple beach access within less than a block, one right across the street. Plenty of room in the condo with four adults and two dogs. Convenient right outside for dogs to do their business. Pool and hot tub were great! Pool was heated perfectly. Nice quiet complex. We only ever saw two to four others at the pool. We used the pool table often. We sat on our patio very often and played cards sitting out. The recliner pull was broken, Paul responded quickly and was out the next day to repair. We mentioned that the gas grill wasn’t working great to get really hot. Paul had a new grill the next day. Wifi worked good, I worked a few days. TV cable good and smart tv/roku for your streaming. Walking distance to dollar general and some restaurants and shopping. By car grocery store is 5 mins away and Walmart in Port Isabelle. All easy to get to because we were there right before Spring Breakers. Feb 20th-Mar 6th. Weather was great!! Next time we go to SPI we would stay again!! Dogs loved the beach!!!

Overall it was a good experience. Pretty much everything you might need at home to cook is there, albeit a hunt to find it. Parking is excellent and location to beach superb. As for me, my house is kept significantly cleaner. We have friends who live on the island who also rent thier personally owned condo most of the year, and they also struggle to find competent cleaning services. For the price, its fair, but in the future, I will probably opt for a 5 star hotel suite instead.

First Visit to the Island

This was our first time in South Padre after past years spent in Arizona & Florida. We loved the location, just steps from the beach. The unit was exactly as pictured. The owners do a great job maintaining their property. The island had much to offer. We spent lots of time by the pool & hot tub, viewing the Space X launch, walks and games on the beach, dining in the local restaurants and listening to local musicians several times a week. The other renters were very courteous. Our family visited with their dog, Millie. She loved the long walks on the beach and being able to accompany us to some of the restaurants and music offerings. The management was quick to respond when we had questions. This will not be our last visit to the island!

Jones Reunion

The Athena Ares is beautiful. The condos were clean and nicely furnished. The pool area was wonderful to have a backyard meal and dip in the pool. We had a generour area to walk our dogs and keep them safe. I would recommend these condos to anyone who would like an area for the whole family to rent all 6 condos or just 2 condos. Parking was great, we did not have to park end to end like some other areas require you to do.Thank you to the family, grounds keepers and house keeping for making these condos clean and welcoming.

Birthday Vacation

This has become our annual birthday/anniversary spot. We love the home away from home vibe. Some days we wanted to have family time and watch movies, and other days we wanted to go for a swim in the pool or enjoy the day at the beach. Another added bonus is our furkids get to enjoy this with us as well. We have had an amazing time each time we have booked at Athena Ares. Martin and Diane are the best.

Last minute plan B

We were originally scheduled to go to Belize but had to cancel two days before because of Hurricane Beryl. The condo was a perfect plan B. The hosts were quick to respond and we had no issues during our stay. The pool was a nice option with the beach. It really is only a 2 minute walk to the beach. Also, it was on the corner of a quieter road with a huge bike/walk lane so we could safely run. Plenty of towels and the beach chairs/umbrella were a great addition!

Well furnished and attractive

The apartment was nicely furnished and well equipped with everything we needed. Water pressure in master bathroom was low, and there were problems with guest bedroom shower. Overall though this was a nice facility in a nice area of the island.

Wonderful time!

Great winter stay

Location can’t be beat! Across the street from beach without all the blowing sands or dampness. We have been coming to SPI for 10 years for a winter getaway and This was our second winter here and the best equipped condo we have stayed in! Amber from the management company is very attentive to all of our needs and wants. Best of all is the heated pool and hot tub, and outdoor kitchen with tv. Great for gatherings and super bowl parties.

Off season getaway

Stayed in October and it was the best timing. Had the complex to ourselves including the pool. The pool was perfect for little ones with a max depth of 4ft. Was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the condo/pool. Bedroom and kitchen linens had been freshly laundered though I’m not sure the comforters and throw rugs on the bed are routinely cleaned (didn’t look it). Was concerned about bugs being on the first floor but didn’t see a single one. First floor was convenient with our baggage but I wish I would have been told 102’s patio looks out to the dumpster. Water pressure and heat were great with showers. Overall, very happy with our stay and would come again. 4 stars for several reasons - several of the provided equipment (beach umbrella and fan) didn’t work. Management was quick to respond and provided replacements for both. On our second day management unlocked the door and tried to let themselves in (maybe she didn’t know we were there?). We had double locked the door so my husband let her in. She proceeded into the guest bedroom to check for paint after my husband told her our sleeping infant was in that room. There was no paint and we were left with an abruptly awoken baby. Overall, communication was great, however, they failed to tell us there was construction to the road outside the complex where we are supposed to park. It being off season, we were able to park along the main road but I could see parking being a problem if it had been busy.

Family Holiday

We rented 4 units for ourselves and the families of our three daughters. The condos were well equipped and very convenient to the beach. The pool and patio area were great for getting everyone together for dinner. We would definitely stay here again.
