The crystal clear waters of Trial Bay or Horseshoe Bay, are ideal swimming for the family with small children. For the more experienced surfers the beaches to visit include Smoky Cape Beach, The Gap and Little Bay.

If you are feeling energetic you can hire catamarans, windsurfers, surf skis, stand-up paddle boards, pushbikes, diving equipment, small fishing boats or hire a fishing charter to go deep sea fishing.

If you would like to just relax, you can lay on one of our beautiful beaches or you can fish the banks of the Macleay River or any of our pristine beaches, as South West Rocks is renowned as one of the best fishing spots on the east coast.
The historic Trial Bay Gaol, Smoky Cape Lighthouse, and the walking trails through the Arakoon State Recreation Park are just a few of the natural attractions on offer. Explore the Rocky headlands, unspoiled beaches or just sit back and enjoy spectacular scenery around you.

Great location !

Had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Southwest Rocks. Apartment was very well presented, and kitchen well equipped. View from balcony was lovely, can’t wait to visit again !

Great location , great views

Nice apartment, aircon taps continually and has to be turned off if you want to watch the tv or enjoy the peace and quiet. No outside lights for the verandah . Nil TV remotes in the bedrooms. TV remote in lounge room does not work even after we replaced the batteries. En-suite door lock broken , water floods en-suite when you have a shower . The coffee shop downstairs blocked the door access all weekend with their tables for their guests which made it very difficult to get In and out the door to access the foyer. The place could do with basic supplies such as washing up liquid, toilet paper , paper towel , just to get family started until they go shopping as nil basics available at all . Overall a great place and great location . Would definitely stay again if air con was guaranteed to be fixed as I see on the reviews it has needed to be fixed since 2018. The LJ hooker stay were very friendly when phoned about booking and very friendly and helpful on our arrival .
