Older hotel good for a 1 night stay

Interesting older hotel. Fire doors every 4-5 rooms. Lots of stairs. There is an old rickety elevator if you are on floor 2 or higher. Bed is a ok, but could use a cushioned mattress pad. Ok for an overnight stay before a cruise, but I wouldn't want to stay longer than that! There are a lot of restaurants and eateries close by.

Old hotel but room spacious and beds comfy, old furniture but bathroom seemed updated and spotless. Housekeeping lady from Brazil was lovely. Tea and coffee in the room. No fridge. Friendly and very help staff.. good location close to shops and shopping mall and cinema all in walking distance. Close to port.

Comfortable and quiet.

Great value for money. Great location. Quiet and comfortable night's sleep. Clearly some updating could be done, but I liked the character. I will definitely stay again

Parking is charged at £7 per day as of September 2025. There is also a £25 fee to reserve on your card in case of damage! Parking - Drive through the arch and receive a ticket from reception to place inside your car.

The hotel was convenient to walk to the port terminal. The hotel room was clean and staff were very friendly. It was very unexpected that the hotel room floor was on a significant slant. Just based on this, I am not sure that I would stay at this property again.

Really lovely old building Has some quirks but the refurb is really nice. Room very comfortable and brilliant location. Feels like you are supporting keeping the building going.

It is conviniently located with walkable distances to the shopping centres around town. The hotel is clean, I loved the food. The staff team is adorable and professional. I Would gladly recommend it.

Breakfast was limited, filter coffee only. Bathroom window just had a net curtain and was overlooked so didn’t use shower
