Hotel was in a different location than expected. We had thought we would have a sea view but ended up walking back into the town to a separate building which is where our room was located. We had to walk up 4 flights to our room which was nice, roomy, comfortable. Thankfully the person who checked us in carried our suitcase up the stairs and was very very nice. All in all a nice spot but clarity on actual location would have been helpful.

Convenient location - very close to the Promenade and port. Please note, the check-in location is different than the actual accommodation - less than a 5 minute walk. There are stairs to climb, so be mindful if you have heavier luggage. The entry door to the accommodation is in the middle of a public square, so I was always just mindful of making sure no one was near the door when I would unlock it. I did find the mattress a little hard, but manageable. Space was clean. The hotel staff were nice - gave me plenty of restaurant recommendations when I checked-in and were able to store my luggage after check-out until my ferry departure, so I could explore without carrying my luggage. Extra advantage of this property is that if you have an excursion booked with the Booker Agency, the meeting point for tours is less than a 5 minute walk! Really helped for my 7:15am tour of not having to travel far to get to the tour meeting place so early in the morning.

This property was a very fun boutique hotel. We stayed in the annex which was a little walk from the hotel itself. Very nice! Quiet and well taken care of. You would not want to stay here if climbing stairs is an issue. Lots of steps with No elevator. If you can do with that then it’s a great place to stay. Awesome breakfast!!

Stayed in the palace in split!

We loved our stay at Kastel 1700! Nothing like being inside a 1700 year old palace! Great location, close to all the shops, outdoor patios and the Riva promenade. The staff were so friendly and efficient! And the breakfast was great! Highly recommend Kastel 1700!

A budget hotel

The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was great and the view of the harbour from the room was lovely. However, overall we were disappointed with our stay at this hotel and we left a day early. It wasn’t really the quality we are used to and it was more of a budget hotel than we were expecting. I particularly disliked the way they sneaked into our room to make the bed while we were having breakfast. I have never been to a hotel where they do that. We had left jewellery, handbag, wallet and even dirty underwear lying around. You just don’t expect that and I consider it an intrusion rather than a service. They should stop doing this and wait until you go out for the day when you have your belongings with you.

Absolutely 1st class hotel: everything you need. Location fantastic. Staff wonderful. Allowed me to check in early, room was ready. Reception lady showed me to my room and explained bits. Really helpful. Great value for money. 5 mins walk from bus/train station- easy to find. Tea/coffee:fridge/mini bar 👍would I book again ? 👍 YES highly recommend..

Right in the old town of split, so as you would expect this is an old building. Rooms on the small side but equipped well with kettle hairdryer safe fridge. No lifts so need to be able to climb the stairs. Help available to carry luggage on arrival but due to early departure not available when we left. Good breakfast in very small breakfast room. Was fine for us as hotel was not full but could get busy in high season. Kindly allowed us to make a sandwich prior to breakfast time to take to the airport. Friendly team at the hotel.

The hotel location is GREAT! Right at the edge of the palace, and close to bus station, many dining options. The room I stayed had great sea views. What I got impressed most was the professionalism displayed by staff members! I travelled in their low season, and I was the only guest at multiple hotels in Crotia, and the staff at this one stood out! They were kind and accomodating. Anna prepared breakfast with a good variety of options for food and drink, even though I was the only guest that morning. I am so touched. Thank you Anna!

This place is in the absolute perfect location and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the room itself had some issues. There was a smell coming from the floor drain in the bathroom and the wall mount was broken so you had to hold the shower head. Super great price for the location though!
