I walked to dining about 6 blocks from hotel. I sat outside. I asked if this was safe area and was assured it was. Intoxicated man came to area and then got into confrontation with a neighbor. I asked them to pack up meal. I felt very uncomfortable. Restaurant had someone who walked me back to hotel. Beautiful area very sad. I got back to hotel. Air wasn’t working. I was moved 3 times on same floor and it was after 11 on last move. Room temp never got below 76 degrees.miserable! It was cooler in hall. I reported this in the morning and received the “sorry” to go along with it as I was dismissed. Beautiful area but would not be staying there in the future. I would consider only going out by myself during the day.

Initially it looked like a good place to stay…got to the room and some lights did not work, thermostat was on and set at a decent temp but stayed cooler than set the whole time…said there was to be breakfast served, didn’t the first morning and then the 2nd morning had fruit…only one of the two keys we had worked at a time…inconvenient for sure…sadly would not recommend unless you had no other options…

The lobby area was nice and staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, my rooms heat wasn’t working, the toilet was clogged and took over an hour to get me a plunger. The tub was also clogged and took 30 min to go down.

Great Experience in the Heart of Springfield

The front desk check in was quick and easy. The gentleman was very polite and gave me a quick rundown of the hotel as far as elevators, breakfast and parking. Hassel free and only a few minute walk to the Capitol. Rooms are basic and hotel seemed to be maintained well. Would recommend if just needing a place to stay close to the Capitol.

The heat didn't work correctly. They were understaffed. The front desk staff did everything- housekeeping, room issues, etc. Despite this the staff were very pleasant. I felt bad for them.

Even with the heat up to max, it was freezing in the room. Dirty towels. Thin blankets that I doubled to sleep (fully clothed) to stay warm. Check in…staff having their own personal drama on their own phone when there were at least 4 separate people needing to check in. (After they finally came out to the desk).

Social Work Advocacy Getaway

I enjoyed staying at the State House. There was something wrong with the in room thermostat, but I survived the chill. I slept well. The bed was comfortable. I loved making coffee in the room. I will consider staying there again next year. Hopefully the improvements will be completed.

Rooms assigned were not cleaned after someone who occupied before me. That happened to 3 different room that they offered me. I had to go up and down to tell that the rooms were not cleaned and were full of mess. I ordered King Bed but I got deluxe twin room instead bcs all King bed rooms were not cleaned. No idea where management is looking at. The lady at the Reception is great and helpful but she had no idea why rooms were not clean and it showed cleaned in the system.

This used to be one of the best hotels in Springfield. It has really gone downhill. No real breakfast anymore. Bar is barely open. Everything is worn out including the staff who seem beaten down. They say that there's new management that is running the place on a shoestring. The only thing that it has going for it is the location and free parking.

After reading recent reviews of this hotel, I was hesitant about staying but took the chance. When we checked in, there were no other guests at the hotel from what we could tell. We felt more like we were intruding when we first walked in and rarely came across anyone at the front desk. The rooms were updated, could have been cleaner but were not bad, no breakfast that I was aware of. Later on the first night, there seemed to be people on our floor in nearby rooms, had some noisy children but this is normal for hotels so wasn’t an issue for us. This became an issue the second night when people were running up and down the hallway, having loud conversations, and clearly smoking weed despite the no smoking policy of the hotel. Multiple times through the night, they would knock loudly on our door and run away. Just very childish and rude behavior to do to strangers. Calling the desk felt pointless, since it seemed like the employees might have known the people-we had seen them conversing and hanging out together when we did see someone in the lobby. We felt saying something would make it worse and just tried to get some sleep, they eventually stopped around 3am. Checking out was just drop the key off and leave as the desk person didn’t say or ask anything else. This is all such a shame as this hotel is right in the heart of the city, walking distance from Lincoln sites and the Capital bldg. Will not stay here ever again until drastic changes are made or management steps up.
