Excellent hotel within its type. Unpretentious

We have stayed at the Ellery before and we will stay there again. It is not a swanky or expensive hotel but it delivers on all the important things: comfort, cleanliness, and quiet. The breakfast is outstanding for a simple breakfast buffet. The common room downstairs is comfortable and inviting for reading or quiet conversation. The rooms have just enough room. It will probably need more renovation soon, but we like it as is.

Cute Hotel but Bring Your Own Pillows

The room was very clean, the location is convenient but the pillows were dreadfully hard. It was unfortunately a very bad night of sleep for my daughter and I. Bring you own pillows if you can!

Reliable but not luxury

We stayed for a weekend while visiting friends-the Northampton area is wonderful. This hotel/motel has pluses and minuses. Pluses: quaint lobby and cozy breakfast sitting area. The breakfast was perfect, not too meager but not a menu. Location across from Smith College was convenient for some guests. Cons: the rooms are cold and you can hear easily from each room. The fixtures and doors are in need of repair or replacement. The C suites C1/C2 offered privacy and additional amenities. Some rooms you enter from the outside on the ground floor.

This is a comfortable, quiet basic, motel-style place that has been renovated. I booked a "deluxe" room, but there was nothing special about it except it was large. No coffee in the room, basic bathroom, etc. Not worth the splurge. The continental breakfast was decent and the staff is very friendly. It's a perfectly nice place to stay, but don't expect it to be more than that.

The Ellery is a nice Bed & Breakfast place. The staff were very helpful and efficient. I like the quietness of the place the most and I could say I had a good stay with them.

Cute Dutch colonial-style hotel within easy walking distance of Smith College. A bit farther to downtown Northampton, but still doable. The rooms were clean and looked recently updated. Reasonable prices - would stay here again.

Not a boutique

There were no safety hand rails in bath; there was no floor length mirror; there wasn’t a magnifier mirror in bathroom; there wasn’t a coffee maker in room; you can hear the walking of feet above u if u r on first floor as well as people talking next door. Given all of the above, the price they charge for a room is outlandish. This place that considers itself a “boutique” hotel is nothing more than a motel 6. But to its credit, The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was very comfortable.
