A fantastic stay with a true old-school charm—this hotel feels like a castle straight out of history. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and check-in/check-out was quick and effortless. If you love character, history, and great service, this hotel is highly recommended.

We always enjoy visiting St. Andrews, and The Algonquin continues to impress. The property is rich in history, which is brought to life during the hosted tour—an experience we highly recommend. We often stay at the Algonquin on our way to New Brunswick. It truly is a treat. We love the history of this hotel and just the general beauty of it. The food is not the best so be prepared. We ordered dinner it was close to $165 for 3 of us and the food was sub par. That is a lot of money for a sub mar meal. It's too bad. Also, there was. a dirty mask on the floor which must have been an oversight but it just grossed me out sorry ):

Room they assigned was very small and oddly shaped. Room we accepted was larger and open, however totally outdated and in dire need of refurbishing. Next unacceptable problem was over charge on our dinner bill. Finally an unknown service charge of $15 per day plus tax for use of pool, game room, which we had no interest. We also found lack of cleanliness in dining room ( floors) We have stayed here before and will not in the future. Very disappointing. This is not a Marriott to brag about.

My husband did not like his meal, not a good choice for him. I enjoyed my salmon. As it was our anniversary, we were disappointed that nothing was offered and we were disappointed that breakfast was not included!
