Charlestown Harbour was constructed between 1799 and 1800 by Charles Rashleigh, whose name the village proudly bears. Once a thriving hub for the export of copper and china clay, remnants of its maritime past remain — including the original shutes on the eastern wall once used for loading cargo. Today, the harbour is a captivating place to wander, with charming cafes and pubs nearby, including The Rashleigh Arms, conveniently located just behind The Old Smoke House.
