Perched on 1 acre on the East side of Roundhead Mountain, its namesake, Roundhead Mountain Lodge, is a beautiful, newly-renovated chalet offering spectacular, panoramic views of the Shenandoah National Park across the Ida, Pine Grove and Tanners Ridge.  With pine paneling throughout, 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 of which are master suites with 15-foot vaulted ceilings, along with a large wraparound deck, and upstairs balcony, you will be in the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway.   The Master Spa hot tub is conveniently located on the deck where you may contemplate the idyllic surroundings and benefit from its exclusive therapy features: Stress Relief Neck Seat, Bio-Magnetic therapy system, among others. And, of course, you will be a stone’s throw from the many activities that the Shenandoah valley and its national parks have to offer.

A Video Surveillance camera monitors the exterior parking/driveway of our home. A photo of what is monitored can be seen in the photos. Footage remains private and may be used for liability reasons and to monitor occupancy/pets and other policies noted in our lease agreement.

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. The main roads are paved. However, the driveway is a gravel or hard packed dirt surface. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. AWD or 4WD vehicles are required.  During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.

LOVE in Stanley, Va

We stayed at Roundhead cottage. It was an amazing location with a wonderful view of “butt mountain”. That’s just the name we gave the double peaks we could see. My grand daughter beat my husband at chess 10-2 We had beautiful weather and great hikes every day. The house has everything you want in the kitchen and then some. We cooked most days but Food Lion is just a bounce away. The bedrooms offered privacy and a place to find some me time for an extended family. We loved Wisteria winery and Ciro pizza. We are from NJ and found the people incredibly friendly and accommodating. We all loved our stay in Stanley

Great Mountain Spot

Very nice house with good views and amenities, drawbacks were the 4x4 access required (not a big deal, but the roads leading to the cabin absolutely require a decent clearance 4x4 vehicle to navigate), and the next door dilapidated trailer/junk yard. It's mostly, if not 100% blocked from view by privacy fencing but still jarring upon first arrival. Otherwise we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return to this property :)

Unbelievable cabin!

The location is amazing! So private and beautiful! Easy access to all areas of the park. Hot tub is wonderful! This cabin had therapy well stocked supplies I have ever seen! It’s wonderful!

Beautiful quiet getaway.

Roundhead Mountain Lodge is a beautiful place to see the fall leaves change color. The spacious property offered plenty of room for us to play fetch with our dog while grilling dinner on the grill and making s’more on the fire pit for dessert. We hiked a few pet friendly trails about 15 mins from the house. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The hot tub was a treat after a quick shower from hiking to unwind. The porch swings where awesome to enjoy the view with our morning coffee. This place is a hidden gem!

The discount stated was not honored

Overall the stay was fine but I rented because it stated stay 5 nights and get 2 nights free. It was not honored and when I asked I was told because I did not book direct through ALLSTAR it would not be honored. I requested the listing be changed and it was not and still states the same thing. I have booked multiple vacations through VRBO and if ALLSTAR is going to list they should honor the bold print that gets people to stay.

Very nice lodge

This was a very comfortable lodge. The twin master bedroom and the third room are ideal for 1-2 couples and 1-2 kids. The place was clean and modern. The only issue we had is that the hot tub was not in a usable condition due to the staleness of the water. An easy fix to make this a perfect getaway.

Awesome Home

Had a fabulous time at the house. Just there for a couple of days, but the views are fantastic. The house itself is set up great for a family or two couples that want to get away. Definitely need an AWD or 4WD vehicle. Do not bring a low riding car. You will love this place. Book it.
