We woke up at 6am to get ready for the day to find we had no running water. When we spoke with the front desk they were aware but could not give us a timeline of when it would be fixed. We needed showers and to be ready by 12. We had two little ones with us and had to take them down the road to use the bathroom since toilets wouldn’t flush. As such, hot breakfast was also not available since they could not clean dishes. By 8:30 the front desk told us they were not able to get ahold of maintenance and that a manager would be in soon. We decided we should look for another hotel. The area was mostly sold out and the hotel room we found was much more expensive. We realize this is not the hotels fault but what disappointed us was the response. The manager was dismissive and told me “I can offer you 20% off, that’s the best I can do”. I explained that have two small children who needed bathrooms and us having plans that required us to have showers we had little choice but to look for alternatives. I was told that was “my choice but I could have chosen to stay and wait it out and not be out the money”. The way the hotel responded was unprofessional.
