Great location, shame it was so dirty

The location was great for the purpose of my trip -visit the Penn State campus- and I wasn't expecting a 5* hotel for the price I had paid. However, it was very disappointing to see that the place was very dirty -both outside and inside the rooms. Our room was not cleaned or towels changed throughout our stay (maybe this is something you had to ask for? There were cigarette butts, and rubbish (empty water bottles and cans, candy wrappers, etc), in the corridor that was not cleaned in 3 days. No vending machine.

The door would not close properly with a big space to allow cold air to come through. The bed was dirty. The shower only had hot water, the cold water faucet as you turn. It just fell apart. The bathroom door was loose and was not able to open it. Terrible experience. Cold in the room very rundown.

The pool area combined with the event area made for a great atmosphere. I’m sure kids would be excited to be able to step out of their room and go right to the pool! The rooms were clean and simple - very nice. Check-in was efficient. The bed was clean and comfortable - also very nice. The complimentary breakfast was just right too - enough variety to please any kind of breakfast eater. I was expecting a hot shower but the water was warmish at best on full hot. Although our room didn’t smell like smoke, it did smell like the pool. Pool-side rooms tend to smell like the pool. I booked this hotel for the hot tub specifically - which was closed for maintenance! I wish there had been a way to know this during the booking process rather than only finding out at checkin. So a mid-winter stay provided no desired warmth. Very disappointing. And we attempted to adjust the heat but decided to leave that alone after it made a terrible noise and then seemed not to do anything. Our room wasn’t too hot or too cold despite that.

It was absolutely beautiful, the pool was perfect temperature as was the spa. The rooms are nice, day go find, and prepare with outside entrance. My husband and i live it so much see your a night just go game the is during the day and a night for ourselves when they go ball go their dads for the night. High recommend!!!
