Portpatrick is a charming and pretty fishing port with a small sandy beach and harbour as the focal point of the village. Take a stroll along the harbour and stop off at one of the waterfront pubs for a drink or a meal whilst enjoying the sea view! There are lots of walks right on your doorstep - Portpatrick is the ’Gateway to the Southern Upland Way’, a 212-mile coast to coast walk from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath in the east. Join the route on the cliffs above the harbour and walk along the coast enjoying the beautiful views over the sea to Ireland. There are lots of other pretty little ports and bays to discover in the area too.
There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world-renowned Logan Botanic Garden, Castle Kennedy Gardens and Glenwhan. The area is a cyclist’s paradise with the famous ’7Stanes’ world class mountain biking trails within easy reach.
