Breakfast typical Scottish style
Location very nice
Views amazing from superior room.
It’s an old hotel with modern upgrades so very clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and the food was good. The scenery is fantastic. We would happily stay there again.
Check in was quick and easy, staff were friendly and polite, room was clean and tidy, dinner was nice, only downside I can say, is the TV was tiny

Property was situated on top of a cluff with a.axing views over the bay. Hotel was clean and tidy but in need of refurbishment. The bedside cabinet in my room was poorly made and looked like it could collapse any second.
I enjoyed my stay and would stay again if I'm ever in that area again
Had a great time, the chef Ian is an amazing cook food was delicious, his lovely wife tash served us dinner and drink’s and kindly wrote down place’s to visit. All the other staff were happy smiley especially the young staff Olivia from reception and Josh serving breakfast. The excellent staff definitely make’s the hotel a great place to visit.
No single malt in bar. No stout, porter or amber ale. Lager and nottled IPA only

The breakfast menu was ok but we were surprised when I asked for a couple of croissants. One was delivered immediately but when I asked for the second we were told the kitchen had closed ???
Things went wrong that were outwith the hotels control. The staff went above and beyond to make up for the issue. We had a lovely stay as a result and would heartily recommend the Portpatrick hotel to others. Fantastic hospitality.

The hotel is in a marvellous position overlooking Portpatrick. It's rather dated but comfortable and extremely good value for money. The supper menu was rather limited and service rather slow. We appreciated the upgrade to a superior room with sea view. The big disappointment though is now being charged for parking there, which was never the case at a previous stay. Hotels don't normally charge for parking in their own grounds.

It's a grand old (or middle-aged) hotel on a stunning hillside location overlooking the harbour. It has clearly seen better days, and seems to be struggling somewhat. This does not stop me from staying there, as I want to support them, and it's a good location for the ferry at Cairnryan. It's clean, has a lift/elevator and rooms with harbour views.
Because it's a big old building, we had to wait quite a while for hot water to reach our rooms for showers.
Staff are exceptionally friendly. From the receptionist who checked us in after our ferry arrived late, to the dining room waitress at breakfast - which was cooked to order and delicious.
The Dining staff are a credit to the hotel, reception area very friendly and it was a pleasure to stay in a stunning location.

The room we had overlooked the water. Sadly the window was screwed shut so we could not get fresh air and the small room was stuffy. The shower was in a huge tub that should’ve come with a ladder. The hotel is old and could use updating. Beds need side tables with plugs and lamps for reading. Our room lacked plugs and a table.
Beautiful property very friendly and helpful staff lovely breakfast great parking over exceeded my expectations and had a beautiful pictuise scenery and view and very easy to find
