Not a 4-Star Experience The hotel has a good location, conveniently close to the Strasbourg train station, but the old city area is a more charming and interesting place to stay. Our room faced a fire escape, which wasn’t ideal. While the room design looks stylish in photos, in reality, it’s overly dark due to excessive use of dark tones, making it feel gloomy. The property has a nice courtyard and dining area, and the water bottle refill station is a thoughtful touch. However, there’s only one elevator, and it’s quite slow, which can be frustrating. An inconvenience occurred just 15 minutes before checkout when we returned to the room and found that our single keycard no longer worked. We had to go back to reception to get it reset, which added unnecessary hassle. Overall, this property doesn’t meet the standard of a 4-star hotel.

Okay stay

Before I arrived, I had emailed asking for a quiet room. When I arrived, I was assigned a room opposite the doors to the lift/stairs. When I raised this, I was moved to a room. This turned out to be next to the elevator shaft and opposite building work that started very early in the morning (as I discovered the next day). I didn't have time to ask to change room again but it was a pretty underwhelming experience.

Hotel Tandem, the best boutique hotel

Hotel Tandem was a wonderful place to stay. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel was great, I loved the location and being across from the train station, and only about 10 minutes from the center of the old town. I also loved that the hotel offers bike rentals which allowed me to have a great bike adventure on one of my days. I would highly recommend and can’t wait for another chance to visit.

Charming boutique hotel with a bicycle theme. Rooms are small but well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel is ideal if you arrive in Strasbourg by train yet still only a ten minute walk into the old town. Busses and streetcars are also close nearby for further travel. The 20 Euro breakfast is not a bad value with good variety not limited to croissants and coffee. I would stay again.
