Lost faith in hotels.com

I recieve my reciept & confirmation from Hotels.com with instructions for key collection. On presentation to that business I was told I did not have a booking & was likely scammed & sent away. I was devastated. I had a huge issue, high stress, feeling like a fool & upset for many hours trying to figure this out with poor communication & not knowing if I was talking with a person or robot via the app. We were forced to stay in a terrible apartment for alot more money in a bad location as nothing else was available at last minute due to school holidays. I had booked 2mths earlier. Our time away turned into 10days of pain, being peeved & we hated our holiday.

Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
No hairdryer which was a shock: this is a standard inclusion in all accommodation these days. Very unhelpful when I was caught out trying to prepare for a work function without one. Crazy annoying check in: had to drive to another location, only open business hours, to collect keys, and return them in the same way. Should have a key code box/return box on site: would not stay again for these annoying inconveniences
