The Surry House

This vintage cozy cottage in Surry sits right between Blue Hill Village and Ellsworth making it easy to plan your visit.

Enjoy the Blue Hill Peninsula and Acadia National Park with hiking, beaches, boating and more. Just under an hour to Acadia.

Ten minute drive to the beautiful cove beach on Newberry Neck Rd also makes for a wonderful bike ride.

Walkable to the town boat launch allows for easy boating/kayak access or a nice evening stroll.

The space
This is an older small (600sq ft home) with low ceilings/doorways. I DON’T ADVISE ANYONE OVER 6’3.

One loft style bedroom with a queen bed and one bedroom with a door and a double bed.

Portable crib/playpen for babies/toddler available (just let me know when you book so we can have it ready)

Small kitchen with fridge. NO FREEZER or DISHWASHER. There is an antique gas stove and an electric hot plate.

Propane stove for heating the house. Please just keep temp appropriate if your leaving for the day etc.

Bathroom has a freshly refinished claw foot tub and hand held shower.

Outdoor shower available seasonally.

There is a smaller green building on the property. It’s not available for use, but you will have access to enter it to get the grill, fire pit accessories, lawn chairs, hammock, beach toys etc.

Instructions for kitchen and heating stove are in the home.

Sleeping available for 4 adults. Babies do not need to be included in total.

IF MAKING A WINTER RESERVATION PLEASE KNOW THAT IF A PLOWABLE SNOW COMES WE WILL NEED TO MAKE SURE CARS ARE MOVED FOR PLOWING.

Please note that while we have done our best to make this place great for children there are a few things we are unable to make completely child proof. Kitchen cabinets and drawers are not all able to have child locks on them. We have done our best to keep most things out of reach. There are knives in a drawer that can not be locked (can easily be moved up during your stay) and we have not yet worked out safety gates for stairs. As we do we will update listing. As a parent I try to think of everything that I would like for child safety. If you have any questions please feel free to ask questions and I can give complete details.

This cottage offers its guests barbecue grills and a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.
