The lounge sets the tone the moment you step in, with striking library-print wallpaper, a golden sunburst mirror, soft brown leather sofas piled with coral and mustard cushions, and a warm glow from the floor lamp in the corner. New wood-effect flooring runs underfoot, a JVC flat screen TV sits on a chunky wooden cabinet, and the air source heat pump keeps the whole apartment cosy. Quirky vintage curios, a vintage telephone, brass candlesticks and Shakespeare memorabilia give the space genuine personality.

Measham is a friendly village in the heart of the National Forest, with a row of local shops, a Tesco Express seconds away and a handful of traditional pubs giving it a proper small-town feel. The wider area is known for woodland trails and family attractions, with plenty within a short drive. The 9 and 29 buses link Ashby de la Zouch, Burton upon Trent and Swadlincote from a stop a couple of minutes` walk from the door.

Good to Know Before You Book
The apartment sits on a main road through the village, so you may hear occasional passing traffic during the day. The décor is deliberately characterful and vintage rather than minimalist, with themed rooms and Shakespeare memorabilia throughout. The single bathroom is shared between both bedrooms, and the kitchen is compact. Entry is ground floor and step-free at the front door. Check-in is self-service via a keypad on the green front door, with the code shared 24 hours before arrival. Please remove shoes where possible to help with cleaning, and quiet hours apply after midnight out of respect for neighbours. Up to 3 well-behaved pets are welcome (please keep them off the furniture and clean up after them). No smoking, no parties, no loud music.

Extra charges
Well-behaved pets are welcome at £8 per pet per stay, up to a maximum of 3 pets. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged for £10 each, subject to availability, requested up to 48 hours before arrival.

Booking policy
Full payment is due 30 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the card on file. If payment fails, it must be completed within 24 hours or the booking will be cancelled. Early payment is allowed; card fees up to 3 percent are non-refundable if cancelled.

Cancellation policy
Full refund if cancelled 30 or more days before arrival. Fifty percent refund if cancelled fourteen to thirty days before arrival. No refund if cancelled within fourteen days of arrival.
