I stayed at Meriton Suites for six nights, expecting five-star standards. Instead, I experienced a deeply distressing breach of safety and trust.
On our final night, while packing, I discovered a syringe in our room. I was travelling with my young daughter, making this discovery not only horrifying but completely unacceptable. The presence of such a hazardous item in a “cleaned” room reflects a serious failure in housekeeping and a clear breach of Meriton’s duty of care to its guests.
The situation was made worse by management’s dismissive response. While the incident was acknowledged, I was told there was “no direct risk.” This showed a concerning lack of empathy and accountability. Whether capped or not, a syringe in a guest room is a significant safety risk.
We requested a refund and a goodwill gesture due to the distress caused. Both were declined, with no meaningful effort to make things right.
I sincerely hope Meriton re-evaluates how it handles such serious incidents and takes real action to ensure guest safety and duty of care are never compromised in the future.
