As far as hostels go, this was excellent. Friendly welcome, our double room was clean and spacious, shared toilets and bathrooms were clean and hygienic, excellent kitchens, very good buffet breakfast... and, best of all, right next to Central station

The environment of my floor had some unpleasant smell, No towel for provided for guest until client came down to ask at the reception and only one was offered. When I told reception I booked for two nights, I was told I can only have 1 and come back for another one later. This is unbelievable as I stay on the 8th floor. Also no bath soap was provided. On the positive side, wifi was good, the cafeteria/eating area good as well.

Everything, the location, right next to central station, easy to walk everywhere in CBD, to Circular Key, Darling Harbour Star City Casino, Lyric and Entertainment theatres/centers etc. Love the lockers in room and also behind reception before and after your stay on checkin/out day to store your bags, so you can walk around without bags. Have stayed at Sydney YHA many times.

Have stayed here a number of times now, I like the lockers up the stairs behind reception that you can put your own lock on that are big enough for a full size carryon bag and a school sized backpack and some other stuff. Same size as the ones in the dorm rooms.

Staff were professional, friendly and helpful at all times. I didn't have free breakfast included in my stay but from what I saw it was well provided. Great location with all transport options in the doorstep and a variety of dining options within walking distance.

Stayed here because the YHA Sydney Harbour was so great. YHA Sydney Central was a shock. Really dirty. Cleaners are definitely understaffed for sure. Bathrooms were foul. Hair and plasters on the floor. The cubicles themselves were tiny and had to practically contort yourself to shut the door. The kitchen was no better. The fridges were full of mouldy food and smelled revolting. The kitchen itself was really dirty, the microwaves were gross.

My experience was great. I liked the clean rooms and bathroom, friendly staff, and the fact that it is near to the Central station. So convenient for those using public transport.
