If we could give zero stars, we would. Our stay was a disaster. On the first night, we discovered a serious gas leak, requiring us to call the fire department. After hours of dealing with the issue, they shut off the gas and confirmed that the water heater needed inspection. The following morning, the heater malfunctioned again, and we had to shut off the main gas entirely as per the fire department, leaving us without hot water, heat, or the ability to cook for the rest of our stay.
The property manager was dismissive and unhelpful. He downplayed the gas leak, telling us to leave a door open and let it dissipate. Only after we pressed him did he suggest calling the fire department; that was the last we heard from him.
In addition to safety hazards, the property was filthy: stained sheets, broken faucets, musty smells, no window screens, and unreliable internet. We tried finding alternative accommodations, but the rural location left us no options nearby, forcing us to stay in unsafe and uncomfortable conditions.
Stay away from this property until the safety issues and cleanliness are addressed. We’ve asked booking sites to remove the listing and provided the fire department’s report, a detailed affidavit, and photos.
This property is unsafe and unfit for guests, and we hope our experience serves as a warning to others. Evolve reps did their best to help resolve the issue, but they were at the whim of the owner, who refused to take accountability.
