About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Big Views & Tahoe Park Access!
If you're looking for a super clean, newer cabin with a view and yet still close to everything, you'll love staying in Talmont! This “pet friendly” classic A Frame Cabin was remodeled top to bottom (in 2017) and has 3 BR's / 2 BA's. Light & Bright throughout, you'll love the open family room / kitchen / dining area on the main floor that feeds out to the front deck, where you can take in the fantastic view of Lake Tahoe below! This mountain modern cabin is a perfect getaway for couples or families alike!
The main floor consists of an open family room / kitchen and dining area. That area leads out to a large deck that sits off the front of the house and has very nice views of Lake Tahoe. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom has a queen bed. The other has two twin beds with pull out trundles. The Master Suite is located on the main floor with its own private full bathroom. The other full bathroom and washer / dryers are also located on the main floor. There is parking for two cars on the driveway.
Bedroom configuration as follows:
Bedroom 1 (main level) - Queen
Bedroom 2 (upper level) - Queen
Bedroom 3 (upper level) - 2 Twin Beds, 2 Pull Out Trundle Beds

*** Note for larger groups, check out our other listing entitled "Classic A Frame w/ Big Views" which is right next door (shared driveway). Collectively, the two houses can accommodate up to 16 guests (8 in each house).

Guests will have full access to this home. There will be certain closets or cabinets that the owners have locked for personal items.

As a host, I live local in the North Tahoe / Truckee area and manage several properties. I'm here if you need assistance but will certainly respect your privacy while staying at the home.

The cabin is located in Talmont Estates and sits up above Lake Tahoe with panoramic views of the lake.

The Lake Tahoe Park Association is a private, gated beach that you'll have access to while staying at this property. Having access to this beach is the next best thing to staying on the lake as you'll be able to enjoy lakefront privileges such as two private piers, private swim area, picnic / bbq areas (reservations are recommended), basketball court, bocce ball court, horseshoe pit, grassy lawns and more. Note that the beach has limited morning hours in which dogs are allowed - see sign posted at beach for additional details.

Many of the most desirable Lake Tahoe attractions are under 20 miles away. Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley resorts are just 10 miles away, offering a full menu of both outdoor and luxury activities. Ski at Homewood Resort, just five miles south. Eight miles north is the dog-friendly Carnelian Bay beach. Meanwhile, Tahoe City Commons Beach is just three miles away where you can enjoy free outdoor concerts and movies during the summer time months. Enjoy Firesign Cafe (arguably the best breakfast spot in Tahoe) just down at the bottom of the hill along with the popular West Shore Market just across the street. Or, if you're desiring lakefront dining, the ever popular Sunnyside Restaurant is right there, as well. You can also catch the paved bike trail and head out for miles of leisurely enjoyment.

If you want to discover more North Lake Tahoe attractions you won't have to look far. The popular Kings Beach is only 12 miles away, and offers a sprawling sandy beach and is surrounded by tons of family-friendly restaurants and watercraft rentals. For a bit of history, head up to Truckee, right off of I-80. Hiking and biking trails blanket the area; you may never traverse the same one twice.

Placer County STR Permit # STR22-6841
Booking guest must be 25 years of age or older.
Maximum 8 adults (per county ordinance).
Community quiet hours from 9pm - 8am daily.
No events or parties. This is not a party house and is best suitable for those looking to enjoy a peaceful time in the mountains.
No smoking of vaping.
No commercial photography and / or filming allowed.
While this house is “pet friendly”, all pets must be disclosed when booking and a non-refundable pet fee must be paid. Maximum 2 mid-size dogs per rental group (any others must be approved by host in advance). Guests agree to take full financial responsibility should there be any damage or additional cleaning required due to pets presence.
There is parking for 1 - 2 vehicles in the driveway (depending on the size of your vehicles). Note that there is no street parking allowed at any Short Term Rental Property (per county ordinance).
No outdoor fires or charcoal bbq’s allowed per county ordinance. On red flag days, no open flame allowed (i.e. no use of propane grill).
Trash must be properly disposed of within metal bear bin alongside driveway. Do not leave any food or beverages in your vehicle as bears will not hesitate to help themselves to your goodies and can cause significant vehicle damage.
Home must be properly secured (doors locked, windows closed / locked, and bear mats activated) whenever not present in the home.
The driveway is on a seasonal plow service, whereas they come once per day when it snows more than 5 inches. They generally follow the road plows and will first clear the berms at the end of the driveway. You’ll need to move your cars so that the plows can access and clear the driveway (which takes less than 5 minutes once cars are out of the way).
There are a few steps that lead up from the parking pad to the deck / front entry door. We do our best to ensure reasonable access to the property, but depending on the timing of your arrival (if during or immediately following a storm), there maybe snow piled up on the stairs / deck. There are shovels located onsite that can be used by guests, but we recommend that you travel with a shovel during winter conditions.
WINTER ADVISORY: By reserving this house during the winter months (November - April), you acknowledge that you will be traveling into the mountains and that winter storms are common and often unpredictable. The dates that you are choosing to reserve are being held for your group and are therefore unavailable for other groups to reserve. In all cases, our cancellation policy will prevail. There will be no consideration afforded for difficult travel due to winter weather condition. We strongly advise that you pay attention to incoming storms and / or changes in weather patterns in order to help avoid travel delays or disruptions. It is also strongly advised that you travel with a 4WD or AWD vehicle, carry snow chains , and have a shovel that can be used if needed to dig out a stuck vehicle.
ALL SEASONS ADVISORY: By reserving this house, you acknowledge that you will be traveling to the mountains and that Lake Tahoe (while beautiful) is in a natural forest setting. As such, it is possible that you may encounter spiders, ants, field mice, etc. at properties throughout the area. We take every proactive measure to prevent pests from finding their way inside the property (i.e. regular cleanings, seasonal deep cleanings, routine pest control - i.e. spray perimeter and crawl space areas, set traps, seal up holes of entry, etc.). Despite those efforts, there’s always a rare possibility that pests can find their way inside the home (as it only takes a very small entry point for that to occur). This is simply a reality of living in the mountains. By accepting our house rules, you acknowledge this Advisory and agree that there will be no refunds or adjustments to pricing should you encounter a pest(s) within the home.
