Hotel was overall dirty : stains and food crumbs on couch and linens, sticky and unwashed floors, humidity smell in the shower, mold on ceiling, dirty toilet and glass surfaces, dirty and stained carpets in the hallways. The lobby floor had a big spill of coffee on the floors for two days, without anyone washing it off! Luggage “keeping” area is just an unsupervised area near entrances, important to note if you plan on arriving before 4 PM check-in. Staff were helpful, friendly and tried their very best to communicate in English, breaking down the language barrier. We were grateful for this, although we fully understand being the foreigners. Location is good, near train station, with many restaurants and cafés around, being quite central. However, note that it is located directly in front of a KTV, so it got pretty noisy over the week-end, but got much quieter on Sunday! Although we didn’t mind at all and it did not cause us any inconvenience, hotel is located in a neighbourhood with many abandoned buildings, and may not appeal to all, since it appears to be in a less favoured area (we saw quite a few women who were selling “services” around the hotel). It then made sense on why the rooms could be rented for only a couple of hours… Overall, due to lack of cleanliness, would not recommend or return.

The room was great, clean and spacious. I would have enjoyed the stay if it were not for the receptionists and the whole check-in procedure. We arrived early, wanted to store our bags and head out to explore. Their baggage storage area was only a ledge by the wall next to the washroom which ANYONE can get access to. We were quite uncomfortable with that but our bags were just too heavy to carry around. We approached the front desk much later and asked to be checked in. The reception looked up, pointed at the machine right in front of her and said, "Check in yourself please." I expected some kind of greetings but oh well, maybe they were busy. We had trouble looking for our reservation and no help was offered until we asked. The receptionist found our reservation and said in a condescending tone,"You couldn't find it because you didn't pay." I was offered the choice of paying upon arrival when I booked. I did not know it would cause a problem and be spoken to like that. We were given instructions hastly and by that time, we too did not want to bother the front desk anymore.

Hotel is clean and near some shops for food and baked goods. 12 min walk to 2nd public market that offers good food. Parking within the building is a plus. 85 degree is across the street, plenty to restaurants nearby. Unfortunately we arrive too late at night to enjoy some of the restaurant options. K-TV across is street is bit noisy at night but insulation is good enough to minimize the sound. Bathroom is modern and large. Room size is decent. we also had balcony.

DO NOT STAY HERE BECAUSE THERE ARE 2 RUDE STAFF

The daily housekeeping is not meaning for cleaning. They only refreshed your towel, removed the garbage and replenished coffee and tea. They don’t even clean your used cup not the stained sink. Anything left on the table won’t be touched including used tissue nor dirty food wrappers. The AC couldn’t be set below 24 and the minibar is hot. Nothing can be placed to chill the food nor beverage. Luggage storage is not manned, you store and retrieve yourself. Ridiculous! The most irritating is the staff on duty on 25 May 2025, one male and one female with thin framed glasses, should be terminated from the company and industry. They ruined my holiday on my departure. More story please read the TripAdvisot for this hotel. Please DO NOT stay at any Guide Hotel 承携行旅 especially this one in Taichung. The hotel doesn’t worth for 3 stars, they overly rated themself! The location is the favourite for gathering by the foreign workers gathering, safety is not guaranteed. You only find Indonesian food, Vietnamese food, Thai food surrounding instead of Taiwanese food. You will see many foreign workers sitting and gathering massively at Taichung train station, roadside at the area and the ASEAN square during the weekend. I highly recommend SOF hotel, 植光行旅 at Taichung. Once again, I urge for DO NOT stay at any Guide Hotel 承携行旅 especially this one in Taichung.

It’s not terrible as long as you have a realistic expectation. The decor of the hotel is very confused. It’s a kind of business hotel with a quirky, early-2000’s cartoonish space theme? Much of the hotel is in desperate need of an update. I stayed in the “Presidential Suite” which had a very 80’s boardroom/mafia vibe. Everything was very dusty, and it felt like the room had not been used in a while. The staff was friendly & helpful. The property is located in a more historic/urban area which can be pretty gritty. I don’t recommend for families, or anyone who is concerned about safety, but there’s lots of amazing food all around.

The hotel has a space theme, it is very suitable for family with kids. Although the luggage safekeeping was self service, and only had cctv keeping a lookout, one should still be safe and not keep any valuable in the luggage

Great rooms!

Book a stay for a week. Check in and out was automated by the self check in/out and is pretty fuss free. Room is spacious and peaceful! Air-conditioning was a little dry, but it was super cold, especially during this hot period. Breakfast was simple and humble, but still tasty. Yakult for breakfast was interesting and very much welcomed! Would definitely recommend to stay here to others!

Location is OK though you have to walk about 12 minutes to the hotel from the train station。However ，you can take a cab to the hotel from the station。 It charges you only NTD 100.00。They have the self check in system but the staffs do help you handle the processes。 Service is good and staffs are helpful。
