We stayed in one of the Matai lodges and it was fantastic. Very comfortable stay and close to town. Staff were wonderful and welcoming and gave us a complimentary hot tub hour for our honeymoon.

The first time we tried this holiday park hotel method. Kind of like it. The laundry is on site and kitchen are very convenient. We have our breakfast there. Very easy!

Expensive caravan park stay in a cabin.

Great accomodation in a caravan park close to the lake. However paid more than any other stay in NZ in what was a cabin. Challenging to keep towels dry and lack of kitchen utensils.

A place to sleep

Beds were old and soft. You sink in the middle. Our accommodation was a basic cottage. No water but had heat and a mini fridge. Ok if you are just sleeping. The beds take up 90% of the space.

Although it seems to primarily be a camper van type of park, we were in a cabin room with en suite. Nothing amazing, but sufficient for a couple of days. Staff very friendly, and great location!

Super low value for super high price. Mind that it is a caravan camp place that has several units and not a regular hotel/motel. You may find yourself with a tent or caravan 2 meters from your window. Room was not arranged during our several day stay.

We stayed in a lovely room in the corner with lots of space. The room would sleep six but with only two of us, it was a treat. Everything was spotless, the linen was excellent and the beds were really good. We enjoyed it very much. It’s right across from the water and in the town so easy walking to restaurants. We didn’t love the restaurants that we ate at. We were leaving on a coach for doubtful sound the next day and so it was extremely convenient.

Great spot by the lake!

Lovely, spacious and clean 1 bedroom apartment. Great amenities on site and very close to shops and restaurants. A great stop over for visiting Milford Sound.

They fired up the pizza oven every second night for you to cook with. Staff were excellent and friendly. Sid the dog was always ready for a pat.

The property is noisy, includes RV’s parking and moving outside your room, (this was not mentioned in your site) The room we got was facing a very busy intersection. (We changed it) The tiny double bed included a warming blanket that had to be removed because of a conector bulging in your back! One of the worst experiences in my quite long life
