The owner took 4 years to build this property and I can see why since it is located in the middle of rice fields with no proper road leading to it. It does have a narrow paved road for walking and for scooters to ride to it. The Joglo style wooden villa has most modern comforts included tk make the stay really comfortable, especially a super comfy bed and pillows! Only big issue is the Wifi doesn't reach the villa and data signal is slow as well, maybe due to it's location. So internet junkies will have to detox for a while :-). It will also be great if they could install some hooks in the bathroom to hang towels so guests can dry and reuse them. A drying rack is provided but it quickly runs of space if you need to dry a few personal garments as well. Breakfast was decent with generous portions, and it's served at the villa. The view and serenity is awesome, but with it being located in the middle of rice fields and lush landscaping within the property, there is no avoiding insects and bugs, so learn to embrace nature :-). Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a stay surrounded by peace and natural surroundings.

Magical jungle retreat, just wonderful!

We had really fantastic days at Malaya Villas. The garden is extraodinarily beautiful and the view over the rice fields is just stunning. A bit secluded but that is actually part of the charme and ubud center is still only a 10 minute drive away - totally worth it! Reni and Zoli are super nice and always helpful! Breakfast was also great and on time! If you are looking for both a little jungle-athmosphere and still don‘t want to miss a certain level of comfort, Malaya Villas are the place to be! We will be back for sure! Highly recommended!
