This cottage was paradise for us
This cottage was paradise for us. From the moment we entered it, we knew we would be very happy staying there for 10 days. It is extremely comfortable, has everything that one needs and more, and is beautifully decorated including original art work by the owner. The kitchen is very well equipped. We loved the front porch with its view of Marigot Bay and spent lots of time sitting there in the two rocking chairs reading and watching the sun rise and set. That is, when we weren't out swimming and snorkeling at one of the many beaches on the island. The cottage's location is ideal: a 10 minute walk one way to the village, with its restaurants, grocery stores and pastry shop, and a 10 minute walk the other way to the most beautiful beach (in our opinion) on the island -- and there are many beautiful beaches!
The owner is delightful and very attentive. She made arrangements for a taxi to take us from the ferry to the cottage when we arrived and met us there. She spent most of her time on the main islands of Guadeloupe, but checked in with us every so often to make sure all was well. She was extremely helpful with our departure, which was complicated by the coronavirus pandemic, and arranged for the shuttle to take us from the ferry in Trois Rivieres to our hotel in le Gosier on the main islands. Without a French SIM card, we were unable to make the phone calls ourselves.
We highly recommend this cottage and are looking forward to returning ourselves.
