I had a fantastic room on the 5th floor looking over Port Arthur and the Mighty Lake Superior. Sun rise in morning was spectacular. Loved my room and stay

We were very impressed with the breakfast we received. I don’t travel a lot anymore so I by no means am speaking from a vast experience, but I might suggest that this was the best free breakfast I’ve ever experienced in all my travels. The building is old but grand, and perhaps the ownership has plans to make it great again. A couple of deficiencies in our particular room were as follows: 1. The light leaks around the door was way more than normal, which also meant hallway noise was significantly higher. 2. The bathroom vanity had only hot water. The tub was fine. The biggest problem for me was the smell of the room. The hotel is nonsmoking but you would think otherwise when entering our room. I think the carpet in our room was past due for change out, giving the whole room an old unappealing smell. The worst was when we got into our bed was that the bedding reaked of cigarette smoke! I would conclude that the people doing laundry were smoking while folding our sheets. We should have tried to get a different room, but at that point we had no confidence that other rooms were better. I don’t like to be a complainer, but smells are hard to get past. Many other features of the hotel were fine. Parking was good and free, room and overall security was good, check in was good staff was friendly etc. Just need to remodel some rooms and clamp down on the laundry staff. There’s no excuse for clean sheets to smell smoky.

the hotel is in the downtown core, so there are a fair bit of homeless (bums) in the area. The hotel is a solid historic building which is nice but it needs a reno. (big $$ i know). Bathrooms need a reno as do the hallways and entry doors. However it’s ok.

Century-old property with some old-timey room features and some modern ones. Physical plant issues can’t be helped due to age, but on the whole it’s quite charming and well located for visiting the city. Downtown Port Arthur seems to be on the upswing lately.

My hotel room was dirty , bed sheets had stains and there was no toilet paper attached. Air conditioner making loud noises as its about to give out. The main lobby had a gentleman being verbally loud , cursing loudly. Overall worst stay I had

Historic building

The history of the hotel very interested. Everything looks old, outdated, but the room is comfortable and the view is nice. Staffs are friendly. There is hot tub and swimming pool, but we are too tired to use it
