Hotel was great - very clean with large rooms. Easy to heck in and check out. Loved that we were able to store bags until check in since we arrived a few hours early. Also loved the closeness to the mall with food court and a connecting walkway without having to go out in the cold at night. Would definitely recommend.

“Hidden, offensive, and outdated policy — tattoos treated like a disease. I stayed at Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo Ariake, and this was one of the most disappointing and offensive hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel buries its tattoo policy in fine print at the bottom of their website — vague and easy to miss. It only mentions “bath facilities,” without ever explaining that this also includes massages and other spa services. Most people would never assume that a simple massage is part of a “bath facility.” But what’s worse — their policy literally lists tattoos in the same line as “contagious diseases.” That is appalling, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable in 2025. Tattoos are not a disease. Equating them this way is insulting and shows how outdated and exclusionary this policy is. We didn’t want to use their baths. We just wanted a massage. Instead, we were turned away without clear warning. The staff hid behind “policy,” offered no real apology, no solution, and no basic courtesy. It was cold, impersonal, and humiliating. International travelers, be warned: If you have tattoos, you will not be allowed to use any part of their spa — not even massages — and they won’t make that clear until they refuse you. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, and this was one of the most regressive and offensive experiences I’ve had. If they want to cater to international guests, they need to stop treating tattooed people as if they are unclean or diseased. Shame.
