The room was nice but nothing fancy, 2,100 for 3 nights was a lot for average service. Reception staff were friendly but dining and bar staff were rude and a couldn’t be bothered attitude. Will not be staying again.

Paid for a golf view room but ended up with a ground floor room with a small lawn and shrubs as view. If they cannot provide a upper level room from which there would be golf view then the description should say it and price should reflect too. Apparently hotel was booked out. No compensation was offered . On a positive note, room was large, clean and very comfy bed.

Clean and decent sized rooms, with balcony overlooking the golf course was a fantastic stay, with breakfast included, all staff were lovely, very close to the beach and Torquay, will definitely be staying again

We really enjoyed our stay at The Sands. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, clean,modern and comfortable. There are great resources to take advantage of including an indoor heated pool, well equipped gym, tennis courts, bar, bistro etc. The Sands is well located with a short walk to quieter beachs at Torquay, a super short drive to cafes, shops etc and a longer nice walk alongside the beach into town. We found The Sands great value for money, really enjoyed our stay and wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.

Firstly the staff are great. Check in was a breeze and they helpful with any questions and directions. Staff in the bar/restaurant or cafe very friendly and engaging. Ammenities are fantastic, good heated pool, great gym with new equipment, wifi, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great carpet! So many great spots to sit and have a snack, coffee or drink when the suns out. Would stay again. My only suggestion would be a sauna for the recreation space. Very pleasant stay. Thank you

The room was lovely - comfortable, lots of space, great balcony. The staff were all young and friendly. The food was excellent and the breakfast buffet was superb. The dining areas window ledges were a little grubby (I wasn’t comfortable putting my handbag beside me on the floor) The main dining room lacked ambience and had a bit of a pub feel. No carpet so quite noisy. A pity because it took away from the delicious food.

Comfortable stay. Breakfast closes at 10.30 and there is no flexibility on this if you show up on the last minute.
