Discover Cider House, a charming and recently renovated terraced barn, the perfect self-catering cottage in Blackawton for a peaceful countryside escape. Nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Hutcherleigh, just outside Blackawton Village, this delightful cottage sleeps four guests and combines rustic charm with modern comforts.

Here at Your Devon Escape we will leave you alone to enjoy your stay but are on hand if required.

The cottage benefits from a communal orchard roughly ten yards from the front door of the cottage. This is a great space to pick an apple from the tree or enjoy some family garden games and a lovely spot for your four-legged friend to run around with their ball.

There is designated parking for two cars in the communal car park. If you are travelling with your furry friend, we welcome one well-behaved pet for an additional charge (please specify when booking).

For those who enjoy a round or two of Golf, this property is perfectly positioned for easy access to one of Devon’s scenic golf courses, the Dartmouth Golf Club & Spa. Whether you’re planning early morning tee times or a relaxed afternoon on the fairway, you’ll find the green just a short drive away. And when the clubs are packed away, you can unwind in comfort – with the coast, countryside, and local charm all within reach.

Nearby beaches of Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands are a fifteen-minute drive away through beautiful Devon countryside. You are a short drive from the wonderful Woodlands Leisure Park and Dartmouth Golf Club as well as nearby towns of Dartmouth and Totnes.

You will have the entire cottage to yourself.


Step outside and enjoy the paved terrace at the front of the cottage. It is an ideal spot for alfresco dining, morning coffee, or simply soaking up the tranquil surroundings. With a communal garden and orchard nearby, Cider House offers plenty of space for your furry friend to play or for family games under the Devon sun.

Inside, the open plan kitchen, dining, and living area is brimming with country character. The kitchen features a Belfast sink, wooden countertops, and a rustic electric range, perfect for preparing meals with fresh local produce. Gather around the dining table for shared meals, then relax in the cosy lounge with its log burner and comfortable leather sofas, ideal for chilly evenings or quiet nights in.

Upstairs, you’ll find two beautifully furnished bedrooms, each with its own en-suite. The master bedroom offers a king-size bed (convertible to two singles on request) with an open-plan shower and wash basin, while the second bedroom boasts a luxurious roll-top bath and king-size bed, providing a restful retreat for all guests. Families can also hire baby equipment such as a highchair, travel cot, and stair gate.

Cider House is equipped with modern amenities including a 4K Smart TV, DVD player, board games, and books, ensuring cosy nights in. Designated parking for two cars and pet-friendly facilities (one well-behaved dog welcome) make it a convenient and welcoming choice.

Parking:
There is space for two cars on the communal parking area a few yards from the cottage.

Pets:
We do ask that dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture and you will need to bring your own dog towels, bed and bowls. Please pick up after your pet wherever whilst you are here.

Logs:
From 1st November – 31st March, Guests will be given a starter pack for the log burner however, we provide details of where to buy more throughout your holiday in the welcome folder.

Master Bed:
Set as a 5ft King but can be split into two singles on request – please state at time of booking.

Additional Accommodation:
If you have an extended family and you’re looking to accommodate up to eight guests then you can also consider the sister cottage, Shepherds Cottage located right next door making it very convenient to house grandparents or extended members of the family. Please ask me for details.

Rental Conditions:
Prior to your stay, we require you to complete a pre-arrival form and sign & agree to our rental conditions.

As a guest of this cottage, you'll find a garden and laundry facilities. The front desk is open around the clock.
