Welcome to Bord de L’eau, a peaceful waterfront cottage tucked along the quiet shoreline of the Sheepscot River in the heart of Midcoast Maine. True to its name — meaning “Edge of the Water” — the home sits close to the river’s edge, where gentle tides, passing sailboats, and glowing coastal sunsets create a calm rhythm that defines life in this part of Maine.
Step inside to a warm and welcoming interior that reflects the simple charm of a traditional Maine cottage. Built in the 1970s and surrounded by trees, the home embraces a cozy, relaxed atmosphere where natural light fills the rooms and windows frame peaceful views of the surrounding landscape.
The living room offers a comfortable place to unwind after a day exploring the coast. Settle into the seating area with a movie on the Smart TV, read a book, or simply enjoy the quiet stillness of the wooded surroundings. The space invites slow evenings and easy conversation — the kind of moments that define a true Maine getaway.
The kitchen provides everything needed to prepare meals during your stay, including a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and essential cookware. Whether you`re making a quick breakfast before a coastal adventure or preparing dinner to enjoy back on the deck, the space is designed for simple, relaxed cooking.
The cottage comfortably sleeps guests with a king bed in the first-floor bedroom, a full bed in the upstairs bedroom, and a full bed in the loft area upstairs with a shared dresser/closet area, making it an excellent retreat for couples, families, or small groups looking to enjoy the Maine coast together. The upstairs bedroom offers a window AC as well as the downstairs master bedroom. The home also includes one full bathroom, maintaining the simplicity and practicality of a classic waterfront retreat.
Outside, the new riverfront deck becomes the heart of the home. From here, guests can enjoy quiet mornings with coffee as mist rises from the river, watch boats drift along the tidal waterway, or settle in during the evening as the sky glows with the vibrant colors of sunset over the Sheepscot River.
The property sits within a peaceful waterfront community, and guests also have access to shared amenities including a tennis court, pickleball court, and dock and float, offering additional ways to enjoy the surrounding water and outdoor space.
