Wouldn't Stay Here Again!

Tulum is absolutely gorgeous and the area in which this building is located is up and coming but it's not there yet. For starters, the location is very difficult to find, even for people that live in Tulum/Taxi drivers. There is a TON of construction going on so I'm sure in a few years, this place will be great. It's also SO FAR FROM THE BEACH. EVEN ON BIKE. The keys to our apartment were not ready when we arrived. The doorman had to search and search for the spare key (our key). Secondly, I requested to rent a scooter but when we arrived, no one was aware that we rented a scooter even though I was told we would be given one. We didn't rent a car under the impression of having the scooter readily available. Thirdly, in the description of the apartment it seems as though bikes are available for everyone and anyone once you arrive. Not the case. You have to notify the hosts that you need to rent bikes BUT of course, all of the bikes were reserved. We then had to find a bike rental and leave our ID and passport for the duration of the bike reservation (not safe!). Additionally, we were under the impression that the host would be at our disposal. Completely false. Nico took awhile to get back to us and it was extremely frustrating. Gutemberg, the doorman, was kind enough to call us a taxi each night. He was definitely the most helpful/reliable. Also, there weren't any toiletries except 1 roll of toilet paper and 2 towels. We loved Tulum but unfortunately, the lodging somewhat ruined our trip.
