We traveled to Valdosta to visit our son and daughter-in-law after they welcomed their new baby. Our son is stationed here in the Air Force, and this was our first trip to the area. Because we booked close to our travel dates and the forecast showed temperatures in the low 80s, we chose this property mainly for the outdoor space shown in the listing (pool, cooking area, and outdoor setup). When we arrived, the water and internet were not working and the home had a musty smell. The host did respond quickly and had someone there within about 40 minutes to resolve those issues, which we appreciated. However, we learned there were electrical issues affecting the outdoor area, including power outside and the pool heater, and the pool was not clean. Since the outdoor amenities were the main reason we selected this property, this was disappointing.Inside the home we also noticed several maintenance and cleanliness issues, including a trundle mattress that was soaking wet, a loose bathroom faucet, dirty underwear left in a closet, an empty beer bottle under a bed, and food in the couch cushions. Our suggestion would be that if major amenities are not currently working, they should be removed from the listing and pricing adjusted until repaired. The rate was higher than many nearby properties, largely due to the advertised amenities.
