Lovely stay

We spent a week and a half here in the early summer. The pool was fantastic, clean and warm, and our baby loved it! If you are coming with a baby/toddler, the pool is fenced off and up a low hill so you do not have to worry about them accessing it without you. There's a lovely semi-shaded area and plenty of deckchairs up there as well The outside table, BBQ and table tennis were all great, and we used them a lot. The whole place was comfortable enough to relax in and linger, but shops, cafes and restaurants only 15mins away in Montignac. We recommend the community shop in Valojoulx too.

Wonderful!! Swimming pool is fantastic.

A family with 4 children (ages 2, 7, 9, and 11 years old) spent a wonderful week here with plenty to do at the house to spend days not going anywhere and a particularly amazing pool! Sandrine was efficient and lovely, we had fast communication and check in and check out were really easy. The place is excellent. The swimming pool is wonderful, clean, secure with sunny and shady seating, a toilet, and lots of toys and floats. We spent a LOT of time at the pool. It is also a really good size to have a proper swim in. It had everything you needed for a family stay. There is a ping pong table, swings and a slides (these had been moved from the picture online so are now up near the pool rather than down by the house). The house was clean and tidy, a little dusty here and there but everything else was spotless. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for our family with 4 children. The other part of the house is also a gite managed by Sandrine with its own swimming pool. One thing to note (particularly as we have a 2 year old) is that the property is not secure from the woods and the road. The garden is huge so they have to go far to get there but it is something to consider. The property is very close to Lascaux and well situated for visiting many places. You need to drive everywhere as there is not a village within walking distance but the house has everything you need to be happy not going out as well. Local supermarket is 10-15 minutes away with a Bio store next door that has a good vegetarian selection of food. Worth doing: - Lascaux caves obviously! - There is a great vegetarian and vegan restaurant worth visiting in Thonac (the carnivorous members of our family also enjoyed it and the pizzas are definitely worth the trip). - Saint-LĂ©on-sur-VĂ©zĂšre is a lovely village along the river for pottering with little shops and just generally beautiful. - Saint-LĂ©on-sur-VĂ©zĂšre canoeing from here was beautiful.

Two weeks in the Dordogne

With 4 adults and 4 children under 11 years old, we had everything we needed to have a wonderful holiday. The cottage was well equipped with all amenities for cooking , washing and cleaning. The cottage has great outdoor space , plenty of room for outdoor games and a covered decked area for outdoor meals and relaxing. The swimming pool and surrounding area is excellent . We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and we would use this property again .

Gorgeous location, with nice but small house

There is no question that this house is perfectly located and the owner is very pleasant and accommodating. The pool is wonderful, but the owner really needs to either replace or sand down the decking that surrounds it. There is a notice that tells you “not to run, due to splinters”, but my wife and I both got two splinters each, just walking. The bedrooms are nice, but the upstairs main room needs shutters to help keep it cool. The kitchen is adequate, but has no cupboard space to store dry groceries. There was only the three of us and we struggled, so not really sure how a family of 5 or 6 would cope. There was a small amount of information about the house / local supermarkets etc, but this could do with more detail. This is a nice house, but with a few improvements, it could be a great one!

Wonderful cottage with a beautiful pool and huge garden- great for children.

We had a really lovely 2 weeks mid June with our baby and toddler. We had amazing hot sunny weather and so spent many lazy days by the pool. The owners were friendly and helpful and although they lived next door they respected our privacy. Our daughter made friends with their little boy and they played together in the garden most evenings. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything you would need to make it home from home. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful gite with pool in a peaceful location

Warm welcome by host Sandrine. Well equipped gite with a fantastic pool in a beautiful part of the Dordogne. Lots of activities to do locally. Great to have a large space outside for the children to play, with the added bonus of swing,slide and sandpit. We hope to visit again soon.

Very good gite

A great gite very clean and everything you need. We were a party of four and stayed for two weeks. The pool was fantastic as we had some really hot days during our stay. If you want peace and quiet but with all amenities and attractions we can highly recommend this property. The owners English is about as good as our French however were very friendly and we communicated ok so don't be put off by language barriers. A lovely area in the perigord region.

Calme et bien placé

Le gßte est trÚs bien placé pour les nombreuses visites et activités aux alentours tout en étant au calme. Il est aménagé et décoré avec goût. Pour les chambres à l'étage, si le canapé est déplié, il ne reste qu'un petit passage pour circuler. Une climatisation à l'étage serait un plus pour l'été, les ventilateurs ont bien aidé. La piscine est superbe, chauffée et bien aménagée. Un grand espace jeux pour les enfants et un grand terrain. Merci à Sandrine pour le savoureux panier local de bienvenue. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour.

hidden paradise

The house is lovely situated within a hilly countryside near the vezere river. You are almost separated from the busy tourist streams you find somewhere further south in the PĂ©rigord.We really loved it therefor - and if you want - you can always get there. The house itself provides you with everything needed for an independent holiday, has a fully equipped kitchen, enough space and leaves nothing to be missed. We really loved the great, covered terasse, which is a nice feature, when it rains. A bit apart from the building is the large and heated (!) pool, which I found even big enough to perform some serious swim training. In terms of sport - the area is one of the best I ever experienced for race cycling. Hilly roads, you're almost alone, it was such a pleasure to ride there. WeÂŽd definitely would come back !

Perfect vakantieverblijf.

Wij hebben met twee gezinnen enorm genoten in deze villa! De villa was goed schoon en zeer netjes!! Complimenten Sandrine! Omgeving is ook veel te doen. Ook is er genoeg rond de villa te doen zo als een zwembad, speel toestellen enz. Enige minpunt; geen airco en geen horren. Het koelt in de nacht wel goed af maar horren zou dan prettig zijn.

Very nice cottage and pool - perfect in every detail

The 50 m2 pool is great, the size of the garden is huge - and it is nice and quiet all day long. The cottage is perfectly equipped down to every detail, e.g. dishwasher tabs, and even ice in the fridge. We had some very minor things to remediate (e.g. broken badminton rackets), and it was resolved within less than a day - great host. The fact that the second cottage was just adjacent to ours did not disturb at all. There were no guests, but they also had a completely independent and opposite part of the garden, including pool, BBQ and kids playground. Really a great space for kids. We would much look forward to return soon and explore the Valley of Dordogne and Vezere (the cradle of mankind) further. It was a magnificent stay.
