I recently spent 8 nights at Hyatt Vacation Club Hacienda Del Mar and found the experience underwhelming for a property carrying the Hyatt name. While the exterior grounds and pool are attractive, the overall guest experience fell short. Upon arrival, the sofa bed linens were stained and never replaced despite notifying staff. The bathroom door did not close properly and was also left unaddressed. Housekeeping operates on an every-other-day schedule, but service was inconsistent. When I requested basic support such as trash removal and fresh towels the follow-through was lacking, and I ultimately had to bring my own trash to the front desk. Routine cleaning was minimal, limited to making beds and exchanging towels, with no surface attention. The property also had unusual policies more typical of an Airbnb than a resort, such as signage suggesting guests should take out their own trash and wash dishes. Laundry facilities were advertised as in-room but in practice shared with neighboring units. Equally concerning, a posted notice advised guests not to leave valuables in the in-room safe “for the safety of staff,” raising questions about security. Amenities beyond the pool were modest. Iguanas frequently left droppings around the property, including near the pool, which detracted from the atmosphere. The on-site restaurant offered average fare at premium pricing. Overall, despite the pleasant grounds, housekeeping standards, and unusual policies make this a bad stay.

Overall a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Vacation Club. It was a quiet and clean resort. Every staff memeber I encountered were extremely kind and personable and wanted to ensure you were enjoying your stay. The beach was steps from the resort with the staff setting up chairs and umbrellas free of charge. The only thing that was negative about my stay would be the parking situation. The parking lot for non vacation club members is poorly taken care of with extremely large and deep pot holes. It is a small walk from the entrance of the hotel with no lights and a small sidewalk which felt a little uneasy as two young women walking late at night. But overall an amazing resort to stay at. Would stay again

This property is a 10/10—hands down one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at! The staff was incredibly kind, respectful, attentive, and quick to respond to any request. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of San Juan and enjoy some peace and quiet, and this resort delivered exactly that. The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. I loved that when housekeeping was coming, I received a text message, and they were very accommodating about scheduling. The only small inconvenience was that there are five of us, but they consistently left towels for four. I had to request extras, which they always brought right away—it was just a bit annoying to keep asking. We rented a car, which made it easy to get around. Walmart and other shopping centers with dining options are nearby, and Old San Juan and other attractions are just a short drive away. Dorado, Puerto Rico, where the resort is located, has a suburban, country feel. I especially appreciated the added security at the entrance—it felt very safe. My kids loved it here! The pool was amazing, and the beach was beautiful, though the waves were quite strong, so you can’t go too far out. There is one on-site restaurant, which was never busy and very convenient for grabbing piña coladas or a quick snack, though we mostly ventured out for meals. Overall, we absolutely loved this place and would stay here again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace, quiet, and a relaxing getaway.
