We were excited to stay at the Gnome Home, and the host was good about communication in as far as she let us know the cleaner would be late because there was an issue with the coded door lock. We (my husband, 6 YO and I) agreed to show up an hour later than check-in time. When we arrived, the host had messaged me and asked if I could replace the smoke detector battery, which was waiting on a small table outside the property. I was fine doing it, but I’m not sure why they didn’t do it themselves—it’s their property.Once inside, we found the space to be much smaller than we anticipated, even for a "gnome home." It was difficult for us to comfortably move around at the same time, and we couldn't even fully open our suitcases or find spots to place essential items. We also missed having a proper kitchen: it only had a sink, a mini fridge, and a small convection oven. There was also no dining area—no table, no chairs—just a small love seat facing a small tv hung on the wall above the convection oven. Were we meant to balance plates on our laps while all squeezing together on a love seat? Given our family's needs, we realized it wasn't a good fit and checked into a hotel the same night. We voiced our concerns to the host and asked if she would consider a partial refund because we felt that the listing a bit misleading, but she didn’t even respond to my request. No apology, no attempt at mediation, no answer at all. Really unprofessional and disappointing.
