The Space:

On a private hilltop in Carreço, close enough to hear the Atlantic waves breaking below, Quinta de Cima unfolds across a vast estate of native woodland and wildflower gardens, exclusively yours from the moment you arrive. Seven bedrooms, six with queen beds and one with two singles, sleep up to 14 guests in a stone farmhouse with warm timber ceilings and a granite kitchen built for long, unhurried meals. Outside, an infinity pool mirrors the open horizon while a jacuzzi for three faces the sea. When evening comes, the games room with billiards and foosball brings everyone together, before the garden claims you back for one of those sunsets that paint the sky in copper and gold.

Carreço is a small coastal parish just 5 kilometres from Viana do Castelo, where the rhythm of rural Minho life plays out against a backdrop of pine forests and open Atlantic water. The village beach, reachable on foot, draws surfers and families throughout the year. Viana do Castelo offers the Basilica of Santa Luzia rising above the rooftops, a vibrant riverside square and some of the finest seafood restaurants in northern Portugal. The surrounding hillsides are laced with walking trails through eucalyptus and pine, while the traditional villages of the Lima valley invite quiet afternoon wandering. In summer, local festivals fill the streets with music and the scent of grilled sardines.



Getting Around:

A car is the most comfortable way to explore the coastline, and the quinta has private parking. Viana do Castelo is just 5 km away, with a train station connecting north to Caminha and Valença or south to Braga, Porto and Lisbon. Local buses run regularly between Carreço and the city centre. To explore the coastal strip, from the beaches of Afife and Montedor to the Spanish border at Caminha, the drive takes under half an hour. Porto Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is approximately 75 km away.
