There's no kitchen on site. Parking was very convenient and safe. Staff were receptive to my needs. Only slight downside is there was no working heating system in my room. There were 3 portable space heaters in my room. Only 2 worked. It didn't really bother me, but a couple or family might find themselves tripping over heaters. And it's not as effective as baseboards or forced air. No heat was on when I arrived. It took a long time to heat the room up, and then I ended up waking up in a pool of sweat. Room was super clean and a great value for Victoria.

My room was exceptionally clean with nice comfy bed and linens. I was on the backside of the property which was very quiet. Just an FYI - there are no views at this location. I did not have a kitchen suite but still had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Buses to downtown or north to the airport are only steps away and $6 gets you a day pass good for the whole day. I really enjoyed my stay at Arbutus.

The hotel staff need a better booking system or training. Around 12:20 am I was awoken to a couple trying to get into my room. I told them it was occupied. I called the front desk. They thought they had booked me in a different room and didn’t realize it was occupied. Totally disorganized and unacceptable. Needless to say I didn’t have a restful night after that happened. Also the neighbours were noisy and I could hear their voices and tv/music playing the entire night through the walls. I’d suggest bringing ear plugs.
