From disappointment to Elation

We did not like the first room that was assigned to us because of the hedge outside the windows. But when we asked for something higher up, we got a suite on the 4th floor for $25 extra a night and then we were very Happy. The little bottles of wine to help celebrate our 68th anniversary were a BONUS. Thank you.

The Royal Scot Hotel greatly surpassed my expectations . The check in was fast and efficient, the bike parking was convenient and secure, and the room (we had a standard) was huge, bright and clean. I loved the real cups and glassware provided (as opposed to the cheap disposable plastic/styrofoam) and abundance of big fluffy towels. I appreciated the two large comfortable armchairs for relaxing and I found the bed very comfortable. Best of all the staff was unfailingly cheerful. Overall one of the best managed hotels I have ever stayed at. It will be my go to hotel in Victoria from now on.

Although the hotel is older it was very clean and included everything we needed having booked a room with a kitchenette. It was like being in a small apartment which also had a balcony. The location was perfect; central and within walking distance to downtown and James Bay. The only negatives being no air conditioning and even with the couple of fans included, the rooms were quite warm. Also the placement of furniture made it somewhat uncomfortable to watch the tv. We would definitely stay there again though!

Located in a quiet area with nice swimming pool and hot tub. Front desk staffs are nice and efficient. However, we stayed in a unit on the 4th floor facing the parking lot. It is very easy to hear the whistle of ship and steps when people passing by at night ( as you may want to keep the window open for fresh air). Request for a quiet room if you are a light sleeper.

An older hotel with impeccable cleanliness! Friendly and devoted staff. I had a one night stay prior to hospitalization early the following day. They were all very helpful, the hot tub and pool were fine. I saw game rooms, pool table, library and an electric piano for patrons use!
