We chose El Blok primarily for its proximity to the bioluminescent bay, and the location did not disappoint. The surrounding area was beautiful, clean, and peaceful, which immediately set a nice tone for the stay. The room itself was interesting and thoughtfully designed, with a clean, minimalist aesthetic. One thing that surprised me was that there was no TV — something I didn’t fully notice when booking because I’m so used to rooms automatically having one. In the end, it didn’t negatively impact my stay, but it’s worth noting for travelers who value that amenity. The rooftop is absolutely stunning and easily one of the highlights of the property. I also appreciated the games available right outside the elevator near the rooms, which added a fun, welcoming touch. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well done, contributing to an overall pleasant stay. The café on site offers coffee and pastries only, which was fine but limited. I did wish there were better breakfast options nearby, as the area doesn’t offer many alternatives — breakfast was probably the weakest part of the experience. Overall, El Blok is a unique, stylish hotel in a great location, especially if you’re visiting for the bio bay. A bit more variety for breakfast would make the experience even better.

The Blok is in a great location with unique rooms. We were able to check in early and get chairs to head to the beach. Dinner at their restaurant was delicious although the greeter was a little rude when the reservation we made through the front desk didn’t show up on her list. The other staff were wonderful. The biggest issue is that the elevator was broken requiring my 78 year old mother to climb 3 flights of stairs.

Very nice spot. Staff are very friendly and rooms are comfortable. If you book the standard room beware that the bathrooms are quite small, but it worked fine for me staying solo. The rooms were cleaned each day and the staff were accommodating to any requests. There’s a nice rooftop with a bar on the weekends (it was closed tues/weds nights I was there). My only (minor) complaint was the lack of good breakfast options. Tea/coffee is free, but otherwise they have a small selection of pastries to purchase. It would have been nice to have more variety (fruit, yogurt etc). Overall a great stay and would stay again!

The room was very clean with very nice design. The staff has been very friendly and incredibly helpful - I happened to drop my phone in the flood during the sudden downpour, right before we were taking the taxi to the ferry terminal, one of the staff at El Blok saved my day by helping find it out, which I cannot appreciate more.

The hotel offered everything as advertised. Great location, and the staff were very helpful and kind. They made it clear what to expect, what was included, and what wasn’t. The room was tidy and clean, and the daily refresh service was provided during our two-night stay. If you rent a car, there’s a large parking lot right in front of the hotel (Esperanza Beach), where you can leave it.
