As dusk falls over the ‘Ría’ the gently rolling hillside that rises above its shoreline on the opposite side is lit up by the twinkling lights of coastal ports and villages to create a captivating backdrop for evenings on the terrace, whilst down below, the city’s atmospheric restaurants, stone-paved streets and café-lined squares are enticingly close to hand.

Regular ferries cross the water from here to the charming seaside town of Cangas and also to the Cies Islands where stunning beaches of sweeping white sand are regularly voted as some of the best in the world.  Also close to hand for a day by the sea is Samil, a long sweep of sandy beach that stretches southwest of Vigo, just 6.5km away.
