Clean but loud annoying systems right undebalcony

Hotel was clean and beautiful. Property is beautiful. The shower had good water pressure and got to a good temperature. The bed was very uncomfortable. Felt more like sleeping on a box spring than a mattress. I woke up with shoulder pain each morning. The room unfortunately was over a roof top with loud machines running - I’m assuming it was the HVAC system. So despite having a side ocean view , all you could hear on the balcony was the loud humming of machines. Which was really bothersome.

Everyone was friendly from the moment we drove up. Dining options were plentiful within the resort (3 hotels) and extremely walkable. It was very convenient to hit the beach with chairs and towels provided. The complimentary breakfast and free happy hour made each day begin and end in a great way! Would love to bring friends back to visit again!

Embassy Suites was amazing. Really good breakfast with made to order omelettes and anything else you could want. Evening reception was from 4:30-6 daily and included two free alcoholic beverages per adult (we had a hard time getting a non alcoholic drink for our son though) - wines well drinks and beer. Snacks were crackers cheese cubes tortilla chips salsa and veggies and dip. Pool area lovely and beach included two chairs. We had no issues a getting a third for our son. Umbrellas were $29 for day - crazy price glad we brought our own. We ate at Arbuckle's twice and at Hunt Room at Cavalier - that was amazing. Great ambiance and our waiter Declan was great! Also ate twice at Tacos and Tequila and our waiter William was gracious friendly and efficient - food was great. Been to Virginia Beach many times - kind of family tradition since 2017 and have stayed many places - will def come back here. We had a king bed quite two rooms and really liked it. Also did the lawn party at Cavalier - really nice.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. This collection of hotels feels like a resort. Every area of the hotel was immaculately kept. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Some things that I would change are the room temperatures. I enjoy a cooler room, and throughout the night it felt as though the temperature crept up. The restaurants were very expensive and one in particular, the Deck, was mediocre in service and quality. The happy hour reception is a very nice gesture!!!
