Secluded cottage & guesthouse in the mountains
Secluded and peaceful two-bedroom cottage in Pelion, a mountain with rich history, pristine beaches and endless vistas.
Only 2.5 km from the coastal city of Volos and 5 km from Makrinitsa, the location is a serene refuge, located in a quiet village.
The cottage, a family home, overlooks the Pagasetic Gulf with a view to the surrounding mountains and forested hills.
Beautiful light, stunning views, minimum distractions
A cobblestone pathway leads to the property, located in the western part of the mountain, five kilometres from the city of Volos, and built with love and respect for the area and local materials.
The fish- scale roof is made with local stone, providing protection from the elements while also being eco friendly. The interior flooring is constructed from natural stones found in the neighbouring regions and cools the house during the summer months.
The main house consists of two levels and is surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with Mediterranean flowers, plants and trees. The interior ground floor comprises of a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining area and living room. The two built-in sofas can easily sleep two people and are also ideal for a cup of coffee or to read a book by the fireplace. The impressive vaulted ceiling with exposed wooden beams makes the room feel light and bright.
The outdoor wood- burning stone oven, located by the guesthouse, can be used to cook meals using the wood stacked behind the oven.
The Rooms
On the ground floor of the main house, a smaller bedroom can also serve as a peaceful workspace. It features a single sofa bed, a desk with a comfortable chair, and a built-in bookcase. A window looks out onto a beautiful magnolia tree, making it an inspiring spot for writing, reading, or simply enjoying the view.
The two bedrooms on the upper floor are equal- sized.
Bright and welcoming, the main bedroom features a comfortable double bed, generous built-in wardrobe space, and charming alcove shelving. Two large windows fill the room with natural light and offer an unobstructed view of the lush garden and majestic plane tree just beyond the house.
Simple and functional, the second bedroom includes a sturdy wooden bunk bed and a classic writing desk, perfect for quiet work or study. A spacious built-in wardrobe offers ample storage, while the window frames the same tranquil mountain and garden view.
The guesthouse is a cozy one-room retreat with a double sofa bed, built-in storage, and a charming stone fireplace. Wooden beams and natural textures create a warm, calming space. Equipped with a basic kitchenette and private bathroom, it’s perfect for quiet, fireside evenings in the heart of nature.
