Lovely hotel, friendly staff, stunning views over the lake, and really nice room. We enjoyed an evening in the outdoor hot tub. It’s about a 30 minute walk into the main strip in town but we really enjoyed the walk and being that bit further round the lake. Plenty of parking in the town if people needed to drive instead. Perhaps the bathroom could do with a refurb, but that certainly would not stop us from coming back.

Edgewater was just where we wanted to be within 10 minutes walk of the Wanaka tree. Our room 107 looked out in the lake. Good heater in the room and bathroom. Restaurant had smallish menu but both dinners we had there were fabulous. Our waitress Lucy was really good and Sam the supervisor was helpful and really polite. Only downside was using the sauna next to hot tubs would have been relaxing but both times tubs full of screaming children. Perhaps do an hour a day without ?Otherwise highly recommend
