About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
1 Beach House - Award-winning Luxury Smart Home
Rental basis: Entire house or apartment
Number of bedrooms: 4; Number of other rooms with beds: 0
Number of bathrooms: 2
If you cause damage to the property during your stay, you may be required to pay according to YourRentals’s property damage policy.
THE HOUSE
Architectural interiors, considered down to every detail. Bedrooms with Belgian linen and Egyptian cotton sheets. A library of design and travel books from twenty years of collecting. A kitchen built for cooking, not catering, with European appliances chosen one at a time over several years.
Two distinct living rooms allow conversations and quiet to coexist. The main living room opens through a wall of glass to the garden. A second, quieter room sits away from the heart of the house, with a view east to the sea and a hundred-year-old pair of oars resting against one wall.
A garden built around an eighty-seven-year-old dwarf olive tree, older than any home around it. Comfortable outdoor seating that holds the evening. Ambient lighting that extends the room into the dark.
TECHNOLOGY
The house responds quietly to your presence. Lighting adjusts as the day turns. Climate settles around you without instruction. Music follows from room to room. The front door knows you are arriving and unlocks itself for the access code you have been given. None of it asks anything of you.
In the evening, a single phrase to the voice assistant turns the dining room and back garden into a quiet space for dinner. Warm lighting, considered music, the kind of room you do not want to leave.
THE COAST
The Logans Beach whale viewing platform is a short walk along the cliff. Southern right whales calve here from June through September, often within fifty metres of shore.
Allansford and The Freckled Duck bakery are ten minutes east. The Great Ocean Road begins properly here, with the Twelve Apostles forty-five minutes further east. Tower Hill, an extinct volcano with a wildlife reserve inside the crater, is fifteen minutes west. Port Fairy and its harbour are twenty minutes beyond.
Warrnambool itself is ten minutes by car. Liebig Street holds the better restaurants. Lady Bay Beach for surfing. Middle Island for the penguin colony. Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village for the stories of the Shipwreck Coast. Thunder Point Reserve for sunsets.
Three hours west of Melbourne. The kind of three hours that turns into a year of remembering.

YOUR HOSTS
Hosts with a love of technology, architecture, and travel. The house has been built slowly, with pieces brought home from across the world and favourite spaces recreated within it: the vinyl collection, the kitchen appliances, the design of the bedrooms, the artwork on the walls, the landscaping of the garden. Every detail has a story behind it.
1 Beach House has been recognised at the APAC Insider Australian Enterprise Awards, 2024, in the Best Luxury Coastal Home category. The recognition that matters more is what guests write afterwards, which is usually some version of the same line: they did not want to leave.
