I really wish this were higher. I was extremely excited about this weekend trip.We stayed at the Garden House Aug 7-9, 2026 and upon arrival:- garbage left in kitchen from previous guests- French fries stuck to bottom of stove (looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while)- overall cottage was in need of repair. Baseboards busted off in some areas, blinds broken or missing over the windows, ceiling lights in the bedroom didn't work- mouse and ant traps in almost every corner (I get older places have pest issues, but every time I walked into the washroom or kitchen there was an ant or spider running across the floor or up a wall with a spider falling out of the exhaust fan when I turned it on for a shower. Even while I was sitting on the sectional sofa a spider crawled across the backrest, and my husband got a few spider bites from taking a nap on the sofa)- it rained within an hour of arriving and the ceiling above the fireplace started to heavily drip onto the fireplace. - hot tub on the property was the same temp as the poolWe communicated the kitchen garbage and lack of cleanliness of the stove with the host, and while communication was quick, just an apology was offered. Same with the ceiling leak.I do have more I would love to comment on, but this review is limited to 1500 characters. I can only end with hopes that the host gives this place some much needed TLC and takes a bit of pride in this cottage, it could be gorgeous, but fell short of expectations.
