I have booked this place twice. The first time, when I check in, the cleaning crew had failed to show up after the previous renter. Contacted the owner. He was very apologetic, made sure I knew where the clean linens were and comped me the first night. I felt that was fair. Booked a second time some months later. It was very cold outside. The heater was on the brink and would not stay running. To the owners credit, he contacted me and acknowledged the problem and said he'd understand if I wanted to move to a nearby hotel, which is what I did. He also told me he'd comp the stay including the difference in my cost at the hotel. I felt that too was fair. I have since tried multiple times to contact the owner to settle the charges, both directly and through VRBO customer support, but he is not responding at all. I'm not sure what's going on but suffice it to say I have lost some faith in the process.
