This charming one-bedroom basement retreat beckons with its private side entrance, a snug bedroom adorned with a queen-sized bed, and a comfortable couch that can be used as a single bed. Delight in the luxury of a full bathroom with toasty heated floors, a generously sized living and dining area, and the added convenience of a washer and dryer unit. Our kitchenette is equipped with everything you need to whip up snacks and small meals, from a handy microwave and an induction stove to a trusty coffee machine, a petite fridge, a versatile convection stove, and even an espresso machine for those indulgent moments. Access to the basement apartment requires navigating several stairs, walking toward the backyard, and then descending additional stairs to enter via the bedroom first and then the living room. This may present limitations for guests with mobility challenges. Please feel free to message us if you have any concerns, and we would be happy to share photos for clarification.

Sounds from Upstairs: We have two young children living in the upstairs unit, and as this is an older home—similar to many residences in Washington, D.C.—some sound may travel between floors. We are mindful of this and make every effort to minimize noise, particularly during late evenings and early mornings. The majority of our guests have found the noise level to be comfortable. We encourage guests to reach out at any time if noise becomes a concern, and we will do our best to address it promptly.

We have a level 1 EV charger that we’d be happy to share with our guests (we may ask you to contribute towards the electric bill if it’s used for a full charge). Please note that the use of EV charger is dependent on the availability of a street parking spot in front of the house.
