Employee Needs More Customer Service Training

My stay was average. There was an employee working the overnight shift (didn't get his name, Black Male wearing a toboggan and face mask) that came to my room about 1:00am banging on my door. I was talking to my family back home and didn't realize I was talking too loudly, and my voice was carrying. I talk loudly because I have poor hearing due to my service in the US Army. Apparently, he knocked once, and I didn't hear the Knock. I heard his second knock and answered the door. He basically accused me of ignoring him and proceeded to berate me for talking to loud. I told him I apologize and that I didn't realize I was doing that. I said I will make an effort to pay attention and be quieter. He continued to berate me about being too loud and was just standing at my door staring at me like he wanted to continue to have an argument. I told him again I'm sorry and I stood there. He then said if he has to come back, he will throw me out of the hotel. Again, I said I was sorry, and I would make sure to talk lower. Again, he just stood there looking at me like he wanted to keep this going. I said have a good night and closed the door. You pay a lot of money to stay in these hotels you expect their level of customer service to be better. Had I been argumentative or disrespectful to him that would be a different issue. I told him I had a hearing disability, and he didn't seem to care. I continued to apologize and say I wouldn't do it again, but he just wanted to stay at my door.

Great location but room cleanliness not so much

The hotel itself is fine, check in went smoothly and the bar staff a friendly. Food (wings) was average. The problem came when I went to make a coffee in the morning. The machine (in photo) had water left in the container from a previous guest which must have been a while ago due to the amount of fermentation that had accrued leaving a congealed substance inside the water housing. Safe to say, this is not emptied or checked on a regular basis. Heard of legionnaires disease?

Super convenient for a week stay. Metro station is literally across the entrance with 5-15 min ride to all major attractions. You can walk to some of the closest museums at the National Mall. No need to rent a car at all - 20 min with metro straight from the Ronald Reagan Airport. Great restaurants in the area.

Great stay!

The lobby was beautifully decorated and welcoming. Everyone who worked there was kind and accomodating from the front desk to the waiters and bartenders. They have a nice lounge in the hotel which is nice. In a great neighborhood, too! Walking distance to many things!

Rating: 3 stars We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and while it had some positives, there were several frustrations that made the experience fall short. Lobby/Valet: The lobby felt welcoming and the valet service was smooth and efficient. However, despite having four elevators, only two were working during our stay. This created long waits—especially frustrating when traveling with a stroller. Mornings were particularly tough; we had to let multiple packed elevators go by before we could finally board one with enough space. Rooms: The rooms felt outdated, with old carpeting and uncomfortable beds. The pillows completely flattened as soon as we laid our heads on them, and the blankets were too small to comfortably cover both me and my husband. Bathroom: On the bright side, the bathroom offered good-quality shampoos without parabens or sulfates. That said, the sink water pressure was so weak it felt like it was just leaking out. Restaurant: The hotel restaurant was a letdown. There was a noticeable lack of urgency at the host stand, leading to long lines just to get seated. Dinner was unfortunately terrible. Breakfast was your standard hotel buffet, but at least there were options for kids. Location: The best part of this hotel is its location—perfect for walking and touring the National Mall. Overall, this hotel has potential but needs updates and better mana
